From the end of 2020, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences started exploitation activities. The results of the international project E-DESIGN: European Digital Education for Social Inclusion and Global Neighbourhood (No. 604451-EPP-1-2018-1-DE-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN) have been integrated into formal education.

Students of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences were the first to have benefited from these activities. Tasks of the Module 3D Objects created during the project activities were adapted and integrated into the curriculum of the study subject Geographic and Thematic Information Systems. The third year students majoring in Geodesy were introduced to various object visualisation possibilities, familiarised with the principles of 3D object modelling. Students had the opportunity to use tools of different programmes such as SketchUp, OnShape and TinkerCard.

As Vytautė Juodkienė, the trainer, states, students having mastered the three-dimensional modelling can apply their knowledge and skills into a professional field or use it for their own personal development.

Some lessons about 3D Modelling were delivered for the students at Kaunas Santara gymnasium. Using SketchUp tools like drawing, editing and uploading photos, students created their own dream house.  The lessons were integrated into the general education subject Information Technologies.

Teacher from Kaunas Santara gymnasium Vaida Valiuvienė emphasizes that students are keen to explore new software, in particular which can be applied into real-life activities. Furthermore, such lessons could be treated as a career guidance tool to choose a future profession.

Kaunas University of Applied Sciences is a non-practicing partner in the international project E-DESIGN: European Digital Education for Social Inclusion and Global Neighbourhood (No. 604451-EPP-1-2018-1-DE-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN).
